North Carolina continues to strengthen the coordination of services for individuals with complex behavioral health and intellectual or developmental disability needs. The state’s Behavioral Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Tailored Plans are designed for eligible individuals with serious mental illness, severe substance-use disorders, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries. These plans can coordinate physical healthcare, behavioral healthcare, prescriptions, care management, and specialized community-based services.
